The lavish home of famous Kumawood actor and comedian, Kofi Adu alias Agya Koo, has become a trending topic on social media after videos and photos of its splendor went viral.

Agya Koo, who turned 54 on May 25, has been a beloved comic star for many years.

However, his mansion in Kumasi was also the center of a historic case at the Manhyia Palace in 2009, when the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, destooled the Chief of Atwima, Nana Kofi Agyei Bi III, for selling the same land to multiple buyers.

One of the victims was Agya Koo, who had bought four plots of land from Nana Agyei Bi for a hotel project, only to find out later that the land had been resold to others.

Eleven other people also accused the chief of duping them with fraudulent land deals.

The chief, who belonged to the Kronti Division of the Kumasi Traditional Council, was also found guilty of demolishing a building on one of those lands.

He had denied his involvement in the demolition and lied to the Asantehene about it.

But at the meeting at the Manhyia Palace, he apologized through another chief and admitted his wrongdoing.

The Asantehene was not pleased with Nana Agyei Bi’s actions and said he had abused his authority and disrespected his elders.

He also said he had heard about many problems in Atwima that implicated the chief.

He then announced the destoolment of Nana Agyei Bi and said he regretted that he had misused his power.
