Asawase NDC primaries marred by violence between Muntaka and Masawudu supporters

The sitting MP for Asawase and his challenger faced a violent confrontation from their supporters at the polling station. The incident was contained by the police officers.

A clash broke out between the followers of Muntaka Mubarak and Masawudu Mubarick, who are both vying for the Asawase seat in the NDC primaries.

The incident happened when some of Masawudu’s fans allegedly jeered at the sitting MP as he was leaving the polling station after voting. The provocation sparked a brief brawl among the rival groups.

The Ghana Police Service intervened quickly and managed to quell the disturbance. They restored order and peace at the centre, where delegates are still coming to cast their ballots
