Charles Bissue, who used to be the Secretary of the IMCIM, says he is not hiding from the law and he is still in Ghana. He says he will go to the Special Prosecutor’s Office and give them the information they need.
The Special Prosecutor’s Office said Charles Bissue is wanted because he did not come when they asked him to answer some questions about possible corruption in the IMCIM, which was dissolved.
Mr. Bissue said he was unhappy with this situation and said he was in the Western region and on his way to Accra.
He said: “It is very unfortunate that it has come to this. I am in Ghana, in the Western region. I am travelling to Accra now. The Special Prosecutor and I were in court a few weeks ago. He wrote to me that he wanted to see me about something else. I told them I had an emergency at home, but they did not accept it and told me to come on a certain date which I could not. After that, we heard that there was an arrest warrant for me.”
Mr. Bissue said he respects the law and he has given useful information to the BNI, CID, and National Security.
He said he will not run away from the authorities and asked why he is wanted when he has not done anything wrong.
He said: “I am not above the law, I always follow the law. I have been to the BNI before, not as a suspect but to give information. I have been to the CID office, and sometimes I go there to do some paperwork for them. I have been with National Security and I don’t think I will run away.
I am not a criminal for my pictures to be put out there like that. I will go to the Special Prosecutor’s Office and give them the information they want from me. I know I am innocent, I have not committed any crime. I have not done anything wrong, I have not sold any excavators.”
