ECG begins massive debt collection campaign today

Starting from today, May 29, until June 2, 2023, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) will launch a nationwide campaign to collect outstanding payments from its customers.

The company calls this campaign “massive” and says it will target all types of customers, including state-owned enterprises.

The company warns that customers who try to obstruct the campaign or reconnect illegally after being disconnected will face legal action. The campaign will be supervised by special teams who have the authority to arrest and prosecute offenders.

The ECG has been conducting periodic campaigns to recover debts from customers as part of its revenue generation strategy.
