Efya Nokturnal reveals new label after leaving ONE NATION Entertainment. The versatile Ghanaian singer, Efya Nokturnal has opened up about her choice to switch labels following the COVID-19 pandemic.
She spoke to AJ Sarpong on 3FM about her personal reasons for leaving ONE NATION Entertainment, where she was signed, and starting her own label.
“I’ve been working non-stop for 15 years and I’ve been doing all the shows and representing. After COVID, I changed labels so I had to start from scratch with my own label,” she explained.
Many people in the entertainment industry were surprised by her decision but have since embraced the change.
Efya’s announcement comes when other music stars like Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale and Mr Eazi have also set up their own record labels.
Efya is a vocal powerhouse who always delivers captivating performances. Her new label will showcase her talents and commitment to a new audience and will handle her marketing, partnerships and distribution deals.
She did not reveal the name of the label to AJ on the show.
The ‘Best In Me’ singer also clarified in the past that she and other Ghanaian musicians like R2Bees were not signed to Wizkid’s record label, Starboy Worldwide.
She said that the Starboy Worldwide project was a collaborative effort by artists who shared the same vision of promoting African music as a whole, rather than being linked to any individual artist.
