Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has challenged Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of Meta, to a cage fight to settle their differences.
However, his mother Maye Musk, a model and dietitian, has urged him to refrain from violence and use verbal humor instead. She tweeted that he should “fight with words only” in a friendly and funny way, sitting on armchairs four feet apart. She added that “the funniest person wins” and that there should be “no joking”.
Maye Musk’s tweet was a response to Elon Musk’s tweet, where he said he was ready for a cage match with Zuckerberg if he agreed. This came after Zuckerberg posted an Instagram story asking Musk to send him his location, following Musk’s sarcastic comment on Meta’s plan to launch a Twitter rival called Threads. Musk had mocked Meta’s ambition to dominate the online world with its “sane” platform, implying that he was not impressed by it.
Zuckerberg, who recently won the Jiu Jitsu championship, seemed to take Musk’s challenge seriously and asked him where he was. Musk, who apparently did not see Zuckerberg’s Instagram story until later, replied that he was in the Vegas Octagon, a famous venue for UFC fights. He also joked about his special move called “The Walrus”, where he would just lie on top of his opponent and do nothing.
