The coach of Ghana’s national football team, Chris Hughton, will reveal the players who will face Madagascar in the next round of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers on May 31.
The Black Stars will travel to Antananarivo to play against Madagascar at the Stade Kianja Barea on June 18, 2023, in their fifth match of the qualifying campaign.
Hughton is likely to make some changes in his selection due to some players being injured.
Some of the expected players to be included in the squad are Joseph Paintsil, Mohammed Kudus, Kamaldeen Suelemana, Abdul Salis Samed, and Thomas Partey. However, Tariq Lamptey, Antoine Semenyo and Mohammed Salisu may miss out due to injuries.
Ghana is leading Group E in the AFCON qualifiers with 8 points.
They have won two matches against Madagascar and Angola and drawn with Central African Republic and Angola in their first four matches.
In related news, Jennifer Mendelewitsch, the agent of Black Stars and Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Kudus Mohammed, has said that her client may leave the Dutch club this summer.
She said that Kudus has had an impressive season and it was time for him to move on.
Kudus has scored 18 goals and assisted five times in all competitions for Ajax this season.
He also netted two goals and provided one assist for Ghana at the Qatar 2022 World Cup despite Ghana’s early exit from the tournament.
The 22-year-old was close to joining Everton last summer but Ajax blocked the move.
