Greater Accra tops food prices in Ghana report

The first Food Price Variability Report in Ghana has been released by the Ghana Statistical Service. The report shows how the prices of 10 selected food items differ within and across the 16 regions of the country.

According to the report, Greater Accra is the most expensive region for food, as it has the highest prices for six out of the 10 food items.

The report was launched together with the Consumer Price Index and Inflation for May 2023. The Pro Vice Chancellor of Kumasi Technical University, Professor Gabriel Dwomoh, and the Government Statistician, Prof. Samuel Anim, jointly launched the report.

They said that the report aims to help consumers, retailers and producers make informed decisions about which market or region to buy or sell food.
