Stonebwoy reveals how Dentaa Amoateng connected him to Angelique Kidjo. One of the most popular songs on Stonebwoy’s 5th dimension album is “Manodzi”, which features the Grammy-winning African singer Angelique Kidjo.
The album, which has 17 songs, also includes collaborations with other local and international artists such as Stormzy, Davido, DJ Maphorisa, Shaggy, and more.
“Manodzi”, the last song on the album, showcases the talent and versatility of both Stonebwoy and Angelique Kidjo.
In an interview with Citi 97.3 FM’s Breakfast Show, Stonebwoy shared how he got in touch with the legendary African artiste through Dentaa Amoateng.
“I had always wanted to work with her (Angelique Kidjo) but I met her through Dentaa. She came for an event here and Dentaa brought her along. As soon as I saw her, I told Dentaa that I wanted to do a song with her [Angelique Kidjoe] and she introduced me to her.”
He added, “She (Angelique Kidjo) was very cooperative and supportive. She sent me her verse when she went back and that’s how we made the song.”
