John Mahama travels to Nigeria for anti corruption conference

John Dramani Mahama, who served as Ghana’s president from 2012 to 2017, departed from Ghana on Thursday, June 22, 2023, to attend a national conference of Nigerian estate surveyors and valuers in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State.

The conference, which began on June 19, 2023, invited Mr Mahama as a special guest to deliver a speech on “Asset Valuation as a global anti-corruption Tool”.

He is expected to highlight the negative effects of corruption on economies in various forms and propose ways to use valuation and standards professionally to fight corruption.

Mr Mahama is a former vice president, member of parliament, and minister of communications of Ghana. He belongs to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party and is the first Ghanaian president to have been born after the country’s independence in 1957.
