Kennedy Agyapong vows to fight corruption if he becomes NPP flagbearer and President
Hon. Kennedy Agyapong

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a Member of Parliament for Assin Central and a flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to tackle corruption head-on if he wins the party’s presidential primary and becomes the President of Ghana in the 2024 elections.

He said he would ensure that public officials are held accountable for their actions and deliver the development that Ghanaians deserve.

Speaking to journalists after submitting his nomination forms at the party headquarters on June 21, 2023, Kennedy Agyapong said “I believe in accountability. If God gives me the nod, he (pointing at his Campaign Manager) will be the Chief of Staff. Listen to me very carefully, one strike and he is out. Ghana first, and he comes second.

“If he does anything against this country, I will fire him. That is the only way we can move this country forward. So, can you imagine if I have fired my Chief of Staff? The rest would sit up because even if the Chief of Staff has been fired, what about me the director, what about me the manager? It trickles down and we become disciplined.”

He also assured Ghanaian youth that he will address the unemployment challenge in the country.

He said he would prioritise job creation to solve the youth unemployment problem that has been a major challenge for the government and previous administrations.

He urged delegates and Ghanaians at large, to “have faith in me that there is a new dawn that is going to change this country.”
