Veteran Ghanaian actor Kofi Adjorlolo recently shared his love for King Promise, one of Ghana’s rising stars in the music industry, and how his hit song ‘CCTV’ gave him goosebumps when he first heard it.
In an interview on Onua Showtime with McBrown, Adjorlolo, who has a rich experience in music and radio hosting, said he was instantly drawn to King Promise’s talent and distinctive style, which made him feel a strong sensation when he listened to the track.
He remembered his first time seeing King Promise on the screen, where he was on a train or something similar in the music video for ‘CCTV.’ He said that was the moment he realized there was a new guy on the scene who had something special to offer. He said he has been following him ever since.
Another thing that made Adjorlolo connect with King Promise is his bald haircut, which looks like his own. He said this common feature made him like King Promise even more and appreciate his work.
He jokingly took off his hat to show his bald head and said: “And the image that makes him unique, do you want to know? His bald haircut is just like mine. I love this guy so much, and I don’t have anything else to say.” This made the studio audience laugh.
King Promise, who is known for his soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics, was humbled by the kind words from the Nollywood legend. His real name is Gregory Promise Bortey Newman, and he has quickly made a name for himself as one of Ghana’s most promising artists. His breakthrough hit, ‘CCTV,’ caught the ears of music lovers, including seasoned people like Kofi Adjorlolo, who recognized his undeniable talent and unique artistic expression.
