A top journalist has claimed that some people in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) are envious of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh aka ‘Napo’, the Energy Minister, because of his huge popularity in the party.
Kwaku Dawuro of Wontumi Radio and Movement TV said Napo has won the hearts of many NPP members and supporters nationwide with his exceptional generosity.
He said Napo is always ready to help his party members and even non-NPP members who need his assistance, making him very accessible and kind.
However, Kwaku Dawuro said some people in the NPP who are jealous of Napo’s popularity have developed a strong dislike for him without any reason.
“Napo is very generous and that is why most NPP members love him. There are many stories of Napo supporting party people who come to him for help in difficult times.
“This generosity has made him very popular in the party so some jealous people in the NPP who hate him without any reason have started plotting against him but they will fail.
“I have never met Napo personally but his kindness and good works are well known and we are all proud of him”, Kwaku Dawuro said on his show on Movement TV.
The Daily Guide newspaper, owned by former NPP National Chairman Freddie Blay recently published a false story to tarnish Napo’s image.
The paper has admitted that its story about Napo was false and fabricated to damage his reputation. The Daily Guide newspaper has apologized and retracted the fake story with another publication.
Kwaku Dawuro said besides being generous and accessible, Napo has also performed excellently in this current NPP administration.
“Napo is the face of Ghana’s flagship free SHS policy. He has also solved the power crisis known as ‘Dumsor’,” he said and praised Napo.
The top broadcast journalist said the opposition NDC are also scared of Napo because he is bold and efficient, adding “the enemies in the NPP should leave Napo alone and let him continue his good works for Ghana”.
