John Dramani Mahama secures NDC flagbearership with overwhelming win. Former Kumasi Mayor and NDC flagbearer hopeful, Kojo Bonsu, has expressed his congratulations to John Dramani Mahama for securing the party’s flagbearership with an overwhelming win.

Mr Bonsu revealed on Facebook that he had called Mr Mahama to commend him on his triumph.

The official confirmation of former President Mahama’s win is yet to come from the party, but the results coming in show that the former President has won by a huge margin in the primaries that just ended.

“I called H.E. John Dramani Mahama to commend him for the huge win. As I have stated throughout my campaign, I will continue to serve the NDC party regardless of the outcome of this election.”

Mr Bonsu was the only challenger to Mr Mahama after former Finance Minister Dr Kwabena Duffuor withdrew from the race, alleging irregularities. Dr Duffuor claimed that the party leadership had violated the agreement and assurance given to the three presidential aspirants to resolve the issues raised about the register before Saturday’s polls.

“The meeting was chaired by the former speaker of parliament, Rt Hon. Edward Doe Adjaho, and all stakeholders at the meeting agreed that the Party Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia would immediately set up a technical team comprising the technical representatives from the 3 presidential aspirants and the party’s election committee to determine how soon the irregularities with the voters register could be resolved in readiness for the Presidential primaries.
