The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is leaving no stone unturned in its bid to retain the Kumawu Constituency seat in the upcoming by-election on Tuesday.
The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and his wife, Second Lady Samira Bawumia, joined the campaign trail on Friday to drum up support for the NPP Parliamentary Candidate, Ernest Yaw Anim.
Dr. Bawumia and his wife received a rousing welcome from the constituents, who thronged the streets to catch a glimpse of them and hear their message. The Vice President and his entourage visited several towns in the Constituency, including Sekyere and Woraso, where they paid courtesy calls on traditional leaders and sought their blessings for the NPP candidate.

Dr. Bawumia praised the NPP candidate as a smart and capable person who would continue the legacy of the late MP, Philip Basoah, who passed away in January this year. He urged the people of Kumawu to vote massively for the NPP on Tuesday to show their loyalty and gratitude to the party.

Dr. Bawumia and his wife are expected to attend the funeral of the late MP on Saturday in Kumawu, along with other NPP bigwigs. The party will also hold its final rally on Sunday, where the Vice President will address the crowd and rally them for victory.
