Okyeman Taskforce arrests nine land guards at Teacher Mante

The Kyebi Divisional Police Command is investigating nine suspected land guards who were apprehended by the Okyeman Land Protection Taskforce at Teacher Mante in the Eastern Region.

The Taskforce, headed by Baffour Asiedu Bekoe, the Okyenhene Akwanserahene, claims that the suspects had illegally occupied a land belonging to a developer at Teacher Mante in the Ayensuano District.

The Taskforce encountered the suspects on Tuesday, May 30, and a gun battle ensued. Some of the suspects managed to escape, but nine were captured.

The land in dispute, measuring 80 acres, was reportedly given out legally by Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, the Okyenhene, to Rockstars Company, producers of Aluminium bowls, according to Baffour Asiedu Bekoe.
