One dead 23 injured in Sprinter bus accident at Sehwi Afere

A fatal accident on the road between Sehwi Juaboso and Afere in the Western North Region has resulted in one death and 23 injuries. The injured people are being treated at the Juaboso Government Hospital.

The accident happened when the victims were on their way from Aboaboso to Afere in the Bodi District to attend a funeral. As they were approaching the Afere community, one of the rear tyres of the Sprinter bus with the registration number ER 1993-13 exploded, causing the bus to swerve off the road and into the bushes.

A young woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the others, including the driver, were taken to the hospital for medical attention.

Francis Adama, who witnessed the accident, said that he had seen similar accidents on this road before, but none as serious as this one. He urged drivers who use this road to be more careful and vigilant.
