Mom locked son in house with bug bombs, faces reckless conduct charge

The Ashanti Region police have launched an investigation into the murder of a toddler by the son of a landlord.

The suspect, identified only as Emmanuel, allegedly killed the child after an altercation with the child’s father, who is a tenant in their house. The incident occurred on Friday, May 5th, 2023 in Adankwame within the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region.

The suspect also inflicted machete wounds on the deceased’s father and sister who are currently receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. The mother of the toddler, Janet Owusuwaa, recounted that her husband returned home from work and was confronted by Emmanuel who was wielding a machete.

Emmanuel then attacked her husband and son and also injured her daughter who tried to save her brother. All three victims were rushed to the hospital but unfortunately, the toddler passed away.
