Punch up at polling station lands NDC youth organizer in jail

A clash between two youth leaders of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Eastern Region has led to the arrest of the regional youth organizer, Richard Etornam Nyarku, also known as Blibo. He is currently in custody at the Koforidua Central Police Station.

The incident happened at a voting centre where Blibo was about to cast his vote. He was confronted by the youth organizer of the New Juaben South Constituency, Akorley Tei Mensah, also known as Rolex. The two have a history of animosity and rivalry within the party.

Sources told Citi News that Rolex accused Blibo of influencing delegates to vote in a certain way. He then pushed him away from the booth. Blibo retaliated by punching Rolex in the face, knocking him down.

The police and other delegates intervened to prevent further violence and chaos. They also stopped Rolex’s supporters from attacking Blibo’s supporters outside the hall.
