GTA Online players are outraged after Rockstar deleted hundreds of vehicles from the game as part of a new update.
The San Andreas Mercenaries expansion pack, which was launched on 13 June, has sparked a lot of criticism from fans.
Usually, players are happy to see new content added to the game, but this time they are unhappy with the removal of at least 189 cars and bikes from the game.
Some of the vehicles are now only accessible through GTA+, a subscription service that costs $6 a month and is only available for PS5 and Xbox Series gamers.
The deletion of the vehicles comes shortly after Rockstar announced several ‘experience improvements’ for the game earlier this month.
“We’re continuing to improve the online experience with a number of experiential updates and upgrades across all available platforms,” a press release said.
The video game publisher listed nine main updates for the vehicles in the game.
The last bullet point and the one that has caused the most anger, states: “Lesser-used vehicles will be removed from in-game websites to streamline the browsing experience. The vehicles will be made available via events showrooms, The Lucky Wheel and other places.”
Many players assumed that only a few vehicles would be affected by this change.
One angry player commented: “They said lesser vehicles and removed f**king everything.”
Another Reddit user wrote: “They really ruined this update already with that stupid sh*t.”
A third mused: “If there’s one thing I have never heard anyone say since 2013 is there are too many cars available to buy. I’ve never once heard that, not once.
“I tell you what I have heard a lot, there’s not enough hangar space to display all my airplanes.”
A fourth commented: “They are taking the p*ss. Look at the huge list, everything is gone and no one even asked for cars to be removed, it was not a problem for anyone. The cars were chilling on the site not bothering anyone. I’m super mad.”
While someone else wrote: “That’s a disgusting amount of content removed.”
Rockstar has not responded to the backlash yet, but UNILAD has contacted them for comment.
