Vanessa, the mother of Funny Face’s three children, has hit back at her critics on social media with a lengthy rant, following her controversial interview with Kwaku Manu.
Vanessa had hinted at a possible reunion with the comedian, who is recovering from a mental breakdown, in the interview. This sparked a backlash from netizens who blamed her for causing Funny Face’s emotional distress and advised him not to take her back.
But Vanessa, who seemed tired of the negative comments, went live on Instagram to defend herself. She called those who opposed her idea of reconciling with Funny Face ignorant and foolish, saying that they had a strong bond that no one could break.
She said that having three beautiful kids with Funny Face meant that their relationship was more than what people saw. She said that any sensible person would support her decision to want to make peace with him, because they had a special connection as parents.
“I am not a hypocrite. Nana Yaw never said that I hurt him. I am not dumb; I am a mother. Most of you don’t understand me. Nana Yaw and I had problems and people misunderstood the interview I did. But let me tell you something. A man who I have three kids with. Three solid kids! No sane person would criticize my decision to want to reunite with him. There is a difference between a man you are dating and a man you have kids with. Not just any kids, twins and a Tawiah (a child after twins).
“There is a connection there. Be smart and don’t be naive. We still have a connection. Even if I wronged him, he still loves his children, I love the children too and there is a connection. Your mentality is too naive and childish. Listen to people and don’t be ignorant,” she said.
What netizens said about Vanessa
Funny Face and Vanessa have been trending on Twitter with netizens urging the former not to accept the latter after she left him, took the kids away, and made him suffer.
What Vanessa said that triggered the attacks
Vanessa had expressed her willingness to patch things up with Funny Face if he gave her a chance.
In an interview with Kwaku Manu watched by GhanaWeb, she said that she had grown over time and that she would not mind going back to him with the kids and herself.
“If Funny Face would want the kids and me to come home for at least a week or two, why not? It gets to a point in life where you have to mature. We have done a lot of things and been through a lot. We even have kids, three of them. So, spending a week or two with him won’t make any difference. It’s not like I intend to hurt him or he might hurt me. He would have hurt me long ago if he really wanted to,” she told Kwaku Manu.
